EPROMr 2 Low-Cost Cross-Platform EPROM Reader/Burner

Those who are familiar with the $5 EPROM Reader for PCs documented on zws.com will be aware of its limitations - among other things, it is read-only, it is only compatible with IBM-PCs running DOS or OS/2, and it only works with a small range of ROMs. User feedback has indicated a heavy demand for a cheap-to-build design for a wide-capability EPROM burner compatible with DOS, OS/2, Windows, Macintosh, UNIX and Windows NT platforms. The EPROMr 2.0 project documented is intended to meet the demand for an ultra-low-cost burner for DOS-compatible PCs. The EPROMR 3 product was intended for more advanced users and persons with MacOS computers, however the project is now discontinued.

FLASH! 23-Nov-98: New software version 2.0.2 (and addition to the FAQ) fixes read/write problems on fast Pentium(r)-class PCs.
FLASH! 15-Nov-98: Sourcecode to the control software for EPROMr 2.0 is now available.
This code was written with Watcom C/C++ 10.6. It can be compiled with almost any 32-bit compiler, but it won't work usefully on any OS which doesn't allow direct I/O access with inp() and outp(). Please note that there is some unused code in this archive, and the rest of the code is generally quick 'n' nasty. It is provided for the convenience of anyone who wishes to port the project to a different OS.
